1. Before You Submit

A. Choose Your Journal & Review Specific Guidelines

  • Select Your Journal: Visit our Our Journals page to select the journal whose aims and scope best align with your research.

  • Review Submission Guidelines: Each journal maintains tailored guidelines regarding manuscript structure, referencing style, and word counts. Authors must consult the specific Author Guidelines on the target journal's dedicated OJS portal prior to submission.

B. Mandatory Publisher Policies

By submitting a manuscript to any journal under Gever Verlumun Publishers LLP, authors agree to abide by our core ethical frameworks:

  • Publication Ethics: Full adherence to our unified Publication Ethics and Editorial Policies covering plagiarism, research integrity, editorial independence, and sanctions.

  • Copyright & Licensing: All articles are published in immediate Open Access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). Authors retain full copyright ownership.

  • Self-Archiving: Authors benefit from a zero-embargo self-archiving policy, allowing immediate deposition of the final Version of Record into institutional and public repositories.

2. Manuscript Preparation and Mandatory Declarations

A. Technical and Ethical Readiness

  • Originality Screening: All submissions undergo automated similarity screening via Turnitin, enforcing a maximum acceptable similarity threshold of 20%.

  • Research Ethics: Studies involving human participants or animal subjects must state formal Institutional Review Board (IRB) or ethics committee approval, protocol codes, and documented informed consent, or cite statutory minimal-risk exemption in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki.

  • Generative AI Policy: Generative AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. AI deployment is restricted to language refinement under human oversight and must be transparently disclosed.

B. Mandatory Declarations Section

Effective from October 2026, all manuscripts submitted to Gever Verlumun Publishers LLP must include an unedited Declarations section placed immediately before the reference list, containing certified statements for each of the following:

  • Ethical Approval Statement

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Statement

  • Data Availability Statement

  • Funding Statement

  • Conflict of Interest Statement

  • Authors’ Contributions Statement (or Author’s Contribution for single-authored works)

3. Submission Workflow and Editorial Timelines

A. Submission Gateway

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the designated journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) submission portal. Email submissions are not accepted.

B. Peer-Review Model and Turnaround

All original papers undergo double-blind peer review handled by independent external experts. The standard timeline from initial desk screening to final publication is approximately 8 to 12 weeks.

C. Article Processing Charges (APCs) and Waivers

  • Publication Fees: Selected journals may charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover open-access production costs following formal acceptance. No journal under our imprint charges an APC exceeding 2,000 GBP or its local currency equivalent.

  • Waivers: We operate a targeted fee-waiver scheme for qualifying scholars from low-income economies or unfunded independent researchers. Waiver requests must be submitted and approved prior to manuscript submission.

4. Appeals and Governance Complaints

Authors who can demonstrate that an editorial rejection stemmed from factual error or reviewer bias may lodge a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief within 14 calendar days of the decision, providing an evidence-based rebuttal. Institutional grievances regarding ethics or administration should be directed to the Publisher's Governance Office (ethics@verpenda.com).
